I've been pierced!

My first ever bit of metalwork, which I had done today at Selfridges on Oxford Street.

It doesn't hurt as much as I thought it would, either!

I've loved politics and journalism all my life, and write about politics mainly because I'm interested in how power shapes people’s lives. More often than not my inspiration comes from staying up too late to watch Question Time.

I've written for the Guardian, Independent and Third Sector and I'm a columnist for Mauritius News. I also write regularly about politics for So So Gay. My work has also appeared in the NMC Review and I've worked in broadcast journalism too, working freelance for Associated Press Television News and as a panelist on various BBC radio programmes (You and Yours, Victoria Derbyshire's show, Law in Action). I'm also the news editor and a council member for the Media Society.

An experienced communications professional, I've worked for English Heritage, RNID, the Ministry of Justice and the IPCC. I studied for an MA in political journalism at City University and I live in south west London with my boyfriend, and the cat.
